Trump Highlights Japan’s Investment in US Oil, Gas, Minerals Projects
In a message shared on his platform Truth Social, Trump declared, "Our MASSIVE Trade Deal with Japan has just launched."
He said Tokyo’s financial pledge forms part of "our Historic Trade Deal to REVITALIZE the American Industrial Base, create HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of GREAT American Jobs, and strengthen our National and Economic Security like never before."
Detailing the initial ventures, Trump stated: "Today, I am pleased to announce three TREMENDOUS Projects in the Strategic Areas of Oil & Gas in the Great State of Texas, Power Generation in the Great State of Ohio, and Critical Minerals in the Great State of Georgia."
According to the president, the scale of the undertakings is unprecedented and would not have materialized without the use of tariffs, which he described as a decisive factor in securing the investments.
He noted that a gas-powered power plant planned in Ohio — a state he has carried in three elections — is expected to be the largest of its kind. Additionally, he said a new liquefied natural gas terminal in the "Gulf of America," officially the Gulf of Mexico, would expand export capacity and reinforce US energy leadership.
Trump also emphasized that a facility dedicated to processing critical minerals would reduce what he called the nation’s "foolish" reliance on overseas suppliers.
Concluding his remarks, he said, "America is building again. America is producing again. And America is WINNING again. This is a very exciting and HISTORIC time for the United States of America and Japan. Congratulations to all!"
